FAQ
What is cannabidiol or CBD?
Cannabidiol is the most important ) and most researched type of cannabinoid ever discovered. It is one of the 100 different phytocannabinoids present in the cannabis plant, which has numerous positive health effects.
What is Hemp oil/ CBD oil?
CBD (cannabidiol) is one of over 100 chemical compounds known as cannabinoids found in the cannabis or marijuana plant.
CBD oils are oils that contain concentration of CBD. CBD oil is made by extracting CBD from cannabis plant, then diluting it with a carrier oil like olive oil or hemp seed oil.
What is “full spectrum” extract, what kind of exctract is incorporated in Kanoil products and what kind of extraction process is used for Kanoil® products?
Cannabis Extract is a natural oily extract obtained from cannabis.
The extract itself is “full-spectrum” which means it contains all the cannabinoids and biologically valuable components (omega fatty acids, vitamins, amino acids, terpenes, flavonoids, phytosterols, etc.) present in the plant itself. This is due to the method of cold pressing CO2 extraction which prevents the destruction of all cannabinoids and biologically valuable components and thus the final product is a pure extract without the presence of harmful compounds (residual organic solvents).
Is there a difference between "CBD extract" and "CBD isolate"?
CBD extract is natural extract derived from the cannabis plant. Besides cannabidiol, it contains many other, biologically valuable phytocomponents important since they enhance the effect of CBD extract itself or they have an “entourage effect”. This kind of extract is “Full spectrum”.
CBD isolate can be natural or synthetic (chemically created). It contains only CBD without the other cannabinoids and various biologically valuable phytocomponents.
How does cannabidiol/CBD manifest its effects?
Cannabidiol acts by binding to CB1 and CB2 receptors (main receptors of the human endocannabinoid system), which leads to homeostasis (balance of disturbed physiological processes). In some diseases, cannabis (alone or in combination with standard therapies) can help to restore normal functions.
What is the endocannabinoid system?
Endocannabinoid system was discovered in 1992. It is a system of receptors and mediators that participate in regulation of numerous body functions. This is due to the fact that endocannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2) are widespread in many organs and systems in our body, including the skin, and it is through these receptors that cannabinoids manifest their multipotent effects.
What is anandamide?
Anandamide is the most well-known cannabinoid produced in the human body, while cannabidiol (CBD) is the most well-known phytocannabinoid found in the cannabis plant, which is closest to natural anandamide in its effects.
What is the difference between Hemp Seed Oil and CBD oil?
CBD oil is extracted from the leaves, flowers and stalks of the cannabis plant. It contains CBD, one of the hundred active compounds or cannabinoids, found exclusively in the cannabis plant. All the health benefits of CBD oil, such as analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, are due to the presence of CBD.
Hemp seed oil, on the other hand, is a cold-pressed extract from seeds. It is high in antioxidants, omega-3, and -6 fatty acids, but contains NO CBD or other cannabinoids. It’s generally viewed as a superfood and is great for adding nutritional value to your diet.
